After completing vocational training in garden and landscape construction and working for several years as a site manager, Florian Strau\u00df (*1981) studied landscape architecture from 2006 to 2012 at the University of Applied Sciences Weihenstephan and the Technical University of Munich. Following his Master\u2019s degree under Prof. Regine Keller, he joined **Schweingruber Zulauf in Zurich as a project manager. Since the founding of **Studio Vulkan in 2014, Florian Strau\u00df has been part of the team and is now a partner. Based in Munich, he developed the firm\u2019s office there together with Dominik Bueckers and Lukas Schweingruber.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Within the studio\u2019s diverse design projects, Florian Strau\u00df works across a wide range of scales, focusing on the design and realisation of urban open spaces for learning, living and working. In 2021 he served as a visiting professor at the Chair of Urban Design and Architectural Design at Biberach University of Applied Sciences. He regularly contributes as a guest critic and serves as an expert juror in design competitions. In 2026, Florian Strau\u00df was appointed Professor of Sustainability, Design and Construction at Weihenstephan\u2011Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences in Freising (Weihenstephan).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
