The nomination offers an opportunity to revisit the ongoing transformation of Paradiso\u2019s waterfront.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following the first prize in the 2016 competition, the project set out to establish a new public waterfront landscape, reconnecting the town of Paradiso with Lake Lugano. Based on the vision of a continuous lakeside promenade, Studio Vulkan, together with Robin Winogrond, developed a sequence of distinct public spaces that build on existing structures and create new connections between the town and the lake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Giardini Pubblici form an integral part of this transformation. A variety of garden spaces, existing green areas and new places to gather are brought together in a spatial sequence. Lush vegetation characteristic of Ticino, diverse views and direct access to the water shape the atmosphere of the gardens.
