Florian Strauß

After completing vocational training in garden and landscape construction and working for several years as a site manager, Florian Strauß (*1981) studied landscape architecture from 2006 to 2012 at the University of Applied Sciences Weihenstephan and the Technical University of Munich. Following his Master’s degree under Prof. Regine Keller, he joined **Schweingruber Zulauf in Zurich as a project manager. Since the founding of **Studio Vulkan in 2014, Florian Strauß has been part of the team and is now a partner. Based in Munich, he developed the firm’s office there together with Dominik Bueckers and Lukas Schweingruber.
Within the studio’s diverse design projects, Florian Strauß works across a wide range of scales, focusing on the design and realisation of urban open spaces for learning, living and working. In 2021 he served as a visiting professor at the Chair of Urban Design and Architectural Design at Biberach University of Applied Sciences. He regularly contributes as a guest critic and serves as an expert juror in design competitions. In 2026, Florian Strauß was appointed Professor of Sustainability, Design and Construction at Weihenstephan‑Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences in Freising (Weihenstephan).
