Our project Giardini Pubblici in Paradiso has been nominated for Hochparterre’s «Die Besten 2026» Audience Award in the Landscape Architecture category. The nomination offers an opportunity to revisit the ongoing transformation of Paradiso’s waterfront.

Following the first prize in the 2016 competition, the project set out to establish a new public waterfront landscape, reconnecting the town of Paradiso with Lake Lugano. Based on the vision of a continuous lakeside promenade, Studio Vulkan, together with Robin Winogrond, developed a sequence of distinct public spaces that build on existing structures and create new connections between the town and the lake.

The Giardini Pubblici form an integral part of this transformation. A variety of garden spaces, existing green areas and new places to gather are brought together in a spatial sequence. Lush vegetation characteristic of Ticino, diverse views and direct access to the water shape the atmosphere of the gardens. Through carefully considered interventions, a cohesive public landscape emerges, evolving alongside the town.

We are delighted by the nomination and would greatly appreciate your vote!

Voting is open until 24 November 2026.
