Aargauer Heimatschutzpreis 2026 – Laudatio by Lukas Schweingruber
At the Aargauer Heimatschutzpreis 2026 award ceremony in Dottikon on 24 October, Lukas Schweingruber gave the laudatio honouring the contributions of Verein Steinbruch Mägenwil and Emil Fischer AG, Hendschiken. The two recipients were recognised for their commitment to preserving the historic Mägenwil quarries and continuing the region’s stoneworking traditions.
In his speech, Lukas reflected on the quarry as a cultural landscape shaped by geological time, human intervention and craftsmanship. His contribution highlighted the relationship between natural stone, built heritage and the knowledge embedded in the material and its transformation.
