Every summer semester, Florian Strauß teaches as part of the lecture ‘Elements of Urban Design’ with Prof Karin Schmid. In his lectures, named ‘Outside’, he focuses on basics of open space planning.

The course examines basic building typologies, their historical development and the influence of cultural frameworks on their design, emphasising the integration of urban and architectural elements within their local context. Through the analysis of design strategies from architectural history and contemporary practice, it explores the interplay between scale, materiality and spatial organisation to create context-sensitive and functional urban environments.
